FROM ABU DHABI TO SOLA

There is no doubt that our EC 135 is no ordinary helicopter. Its previous owner is namely one of the world's richest men and President of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The President had the helicopter upgraded and fitted out according to his own specifications, and used it as his private means of transport over the sand dunes of the Arabian Peninsula. Most of the luxurious interior has been retained, including the President's comfortable chairs and spacious bar!

However, the helicopter's sand filter, which enabled its engines to handle the desert sands, was removed during the technical overhaul carried out at Eurocopter’s service facility in Oxford when Otium bought the helicopter – despite the fact that the former presidential helicopter is now in fact based at Sola Beach.
